Yair Emanuel Tallit Set – Colored Jerusalem on White Background

Yair Emanuel continues his line of tallit sets with this raw silk addition portraying Jerusalem and lines of blue against a smooth white background as well as a famous Hebrew blessing.

The items of this set include a mostly white prayer shawl, white kippa, and blue bag all matching one another’s patterns and all made of smooth raw silk. The Hebrew blessing, "…asher kideshanu

bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef betzitzit" or "G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit" is written across the yoke of the shawl against a blue background and above a line of

Jerusalem structures. On the bag, a square design of Jerusalem buildings encircles the Hebrew word "tallit". Stripes of light blue also adorn this beautiful piece of Jewish art, and culture.

All young men would proudly receive such a kingly gift for a bar mitzvah.

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem.
Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio.
The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
